The overall objective of the programme is capacity and institution building for 5 Partner Banks (Yapi Kredi Bank, Isbank, Vakifbank, Denizbank and Garanti Bank) participating in the EBRD MSME Financing Facility in Turkey as indicated by EBRD to help them introducing and/or further accelerating MSME and specifically agricultural lending techniques to the least economically developed regions of the country, thereby increasing funding to MSME borrowers. Partner Banks’ lending operations under the Facility cover a broad spectrum of sectors particularly agriculture.
Services provided by Frankfurt School
Frankfurt School is advising and assisting Partner Banks in development of new products for new and existing markets, and development and expansion of portfolios of small agricultural loans and loans to female entrepreneurs. As part of the project a study was conducted that is elaborating on financing needs of agricultural enterprises operating at different levels of the agricultural value chain. The study includes value chain reports on different crops as well as livestock.
Apart from that the technical assistance focuses on trainings and seminars on agricultural lending, risk assessment tools like the CAP tool and innovative finance mechanisms like value chain finance and overall business strategy development in agricultural lending.
